Can Florida animal owners be held liable if their pets bite?

In Florida animal owners can be help liable if their pets bite somebody. In Florida there’s a strict liability law regarding dogs, which means the owner doesn’t have to be negligent, the owner doesn’t have to have a prior knowledge of his dogs viciousness, the owner is responsible for any damages or injuries his dog caused. With other animals, be it cats or tigers, it would have to be proven some sort of negligent ownership of that animal.
